Introduction

In the Golden Age of Exploration Captains of ships would keep all of their important belongings in a chest. These chests might contain journals or logs documenting the expedition, maps, navigation tools, and artifacts, treasures, and discoveries to bring back to their sponsoring country. The captains’ hope would be that these contents would help them get their fame and fortune. Could one or more of these treasure chests washed ashore on Cape Cod?
