PAC SPONSORED STUDENT ACTIVITIES
Funds raised by the Parent Advisory Committee go entirely to support enrichment activities for our students. Examples of some of these popular programs include:
Star and Moon Party - students are invited to the Cobb Astor Park at Barnstable High School to view the night sky and watch drama student performances (5th grade)
Eyes on Owls - students learn about owls in an up-close presentation (5th grade)
Bay Colony - students learn about Colonial Life with hands-on demonstrations (5th grade)
Mr. Magnet - students learn about magnetism and electricity with an MIT professor (5th grade)
Energy Festival - student travel from station to station doing hands-on experiments to reinforce their classroom unit on energy (5th grade)
Geography Game Show - students enjoy a game show presentation as they learn about world geography (6th grade)
Water Festival - students perform hands-on experiments related to water conservation (6th grade)
Raptor Project - students enjoy an up-close presentation of rehabilitated birds of prey (6th grade)
Steven Krasner, Mystery Writer - students participate in a week-long workshop with a published author (6th grade)
Other activities for both grades are: Family Literacy Month, "Read Across America" program, "Follow Your Dream" presentation, annual Field Day, School Yearbook, various Field Trips, etc.
Your support is needed so that we can continue to provide these valued events to the students of BHMCS. We understand that many parents may not wish to participate in fundraisers but offer to support, in other ways, the PAC-funded activities such as field trips, cultural enrichment, and the annual field day. However, you can still contribute to our fundraising efforts with a donation. Please remember that such donations are always appreciated and are tax deductible. Further, 100% of your donation will be used to fund PAC-sponsored activities! Checks can be made payable to: BHMCSPAC.
Thank you for your continued support.
